I love Anthropologie & the laid back, cozy, kitschy feel their stores give.  Clearly there are plenty of Etsians out there loving the style too!  These are just a few items I found that are Anthro-inspired that tickle my fancy.  If woman and art could mate, I would totally be getting a tattoo of that wood stack wall art on my booty right now.

What was I thinking?

Today I: was awoken by my Sister who was freaking out because my 2 1/2 year old niece took it upon herself to do a little painting in the kitchen.  A gallon of beige paint and a two year old don't mix well.  I drove the five minutes to her house to find her on the verge of tears, on her hands and knees wiping paint off of the kitchen floor and my niece sitting in the corner saying "I sowwy Mommy" over and over.  After scolding the babe, I took my place next to my sister and began cleaning.  As my sister and I chatted and cleaned, my niece had the nerve to sing "The more we get together the happier we'll be".  We couldn't help but laugh :)

I wish I were: a little bit taller.  I wish I were a baller.

I'm craving: some sun & some sushi!

Tomorrow I will:  work, cook for my main sqeeze, start working out again, do laundry, pour wine in my mouth, soak in a tub of bubbles

Well, HELLOOOOO there! Looks like I took myself a month long break from blogging. Whoa baby! There was a time when I didn't think that was possible... look at me go and prove myself wrong! I didn't really take a break on purpose, just one week not blogging led to two, led to three, led to here-right now-today-this moment. What I'm saying is I'M BACK, SUCKAS. Let's catch up on what went down in May 2011, shall we?

My nephew turned 4!

[a letter to my nephew- who will be allowed to read all of this when he's much older]

Dear Monkey,

You just turned four. You break my heart every year by insisting on growing another year older. You are the sweetest boy, full of hugs and kisses and "I love you's". You still think I'm VERY cool at this point & I like that about you :). Today you gave me a surprise visit. I love those, Monkey! I heard pitter patter in the hall & then a little knock at my door. I thought it was Juju, but then your little head popped in the room & I couldn't hide my excitement! You ran across the room and jumped up in my lap and snuggled me for at least a solid minute. That's LONG in monkey-time. My heart hurts thinking about you getting older and those minute long hugs turning into second long hugs. Please promise to show your old La-Lay some love, even when you're too cool for me. I love you so very much, Monkey. You have changed me.

We had a pirate party in the yard... complete with a bounce house, face painting & some obnoxious pirate music soundtrack. Monkey went with a Captain Jack look here. It was beyond creepy when he closed his eyes and you could see the painted eyes on his lids!

I got in on the paint action, but with a "tattoo" on my arm. MR's name in spanish. Pure romance, I tell you.

Amanda got married!

After the rehearsal dinner, MR treated me to a Huge Ass Beer. Look how classy I look while drinking it though :)

The bride had a room with a huge balcony that overlooked Bourbon street... great for a good time, not so great for a bride trying to get some sleep the night before her wedding!

June is shaping up to be a bit more relaxing, because tomorrow, MR & I are headed to Panama City to lay on the beach for a week with his family! Yay for vacay! When I get back, I plan to be back in action around these parts! I hope you're all doing well & I can't wait to catch up when I return!
