April Favorites

I had heard lots about BB Creams & was really curious to know what the buzz was about, so when Garnier  released their version of BB Cream, I was pumped!  They boast coverage, correction & protection & I was sold.  Before I even had a chance to go out and buy it, I found a sample in this months Cosmo magazine.  There was a sample of the Light/Medium tone and the Medium/Dark tone.  Believe it or not, little miss Snow White over here preferred the Medium/Dark!  It glides on super smooth and blends away imperfections and redness.  I don't have a before/after of myself... maybe some other time?  Do a quick google search of "Before and after Garnier BB Cream and you will be intrigued to give it a try too, I'm sure."

I scooped this E.L.F. mascara duo(waterproof and regular) up before my friend's wedding last month.  I was doing my own makeup for this wedding and wanted to be sure i had a waterproof option when it came to mascara.  I don't like to wear waterproof on a daily basis because it is such a pain to get off, but prefer it for events where I might tear up,or even if it's just going to be a long day.  I'm going to be honest here and tell you why I chose this mascara of all the ones available... IT WAS CHEAP.  E.L.F. has ridiculously affordable makeup, usually $1 per item.  If  it's a single mascara, $1.  If it's a double mascara, $2.  If it's 3 shades of eyeshadow, $3.  You get me here.  Anyway, this stuff is GLORIOUS!  Both the waterproof and regular lengthen and separate wonderfully.

I have searched  high and low for a great tinted balm for yearrrrs now.  A while back I found the Nivea- A Kiss of Flavor tinted lip balm and was pretty happy with it.  It's only downfall was that it didn't come in enough shades.  Enter Baby Lips!  My personal favorite is the bright pink.  A few years ago I was in a wedding and the makeup artists applied bright pink to all of the bridesmaids lips.  I thought "ICK!  No way is this shade going to look good on everyone."  But low and behold, it did!  Ever since then I have been after a bright pink balm for everyday wear.  I pray they don't discontinue Baby Lips- if so, I will be the crazy lady at Target and Walmart scrounging the shelves for all of the remaining tubes.  Snatching them out of peoples hands.  Kicking people in the shins.  Claiming I saw Ryan Gosling at the front of the store in order to distract everyone while I fill my cart with Baby Lips.  I'm serious... don't try to come between me and a good tinted balm, my friends.

A friend got me the Body Butter in this Paris Amour scent for Christmas & I love it. It's perfectly sweet, yet mellow.  I don't always feel the need to wear actual perfume(when I do, I wear Lovely by SJP or Elizabeth Arden Green Tea), so i spritz this on the days when I want something a little softer.

MR & I have already partaken in Beach Sunday twice this spring and we pulled out our favorite Summer find from last year... Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Sunscreen.  This stuff is the best I have found so far!  It blends well, isn't sticky, has a soft coconut scent and did I mention it isn't sticky?  I hate sticky sunscreen!  I normally like to pick up Sunblock at places like Big Lots for the discount, but this stuff is so worth the $9 price tag.  It comes in different numbers too.

There you have it!  My must haves for April!

Happy Happy Tuesday, Y'all!

4 love notes:

  1. Been loving my Baby Lips lip balm too, and I think I'm going to have to try that Paris scent from Bath & Body Works! I liked the way the BB Creme went on smoothly and thought it wore through the day better and better as the day went on, but unfortunately, I think my skin did not like an ingredient in it, but still a great product and glad it worked for you! :)

  2. I had not heard of BB Cream before but I really want to try it now. I'm on the hunt for a new sunscreen so I'll have to try this one out.

  3. I'm so glad to read you were more smitten with the Medium/Dark BB Cream - I purchased the Light/Medium and I myself tend to be more on the "medium" side but feel like the color isn't really working for me. Maybe I will exchange mine for the darker tone, summer is coming which means more color to my face. Thanks for the plug - I'm loving the sheer soft coverage it gives!!!

  4. Do you find the BB cream to be a little oily after wearing it for most of the day? And does it go on smoothly? I ask because I tried a sample of an expensive one from Sephora and it made me break out.
