WRITER'S WORKSHOP:
Grab your current read. Let the book fall open to a random page and share two “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.

"I used to be like that. I was never the kind of girl who said, "One day, I am going to be a beautiful bride, and I am going to have a family."
That's right people, my current read is a Glamour magazine! Don't laugh at me! I love to read, but I can really only manage to read a book when I'm traveling somewhere! I think the last time I made it through a "fun" read was when we had to evacuate last year. The reason? The prime time for me to read is before bed, and between me having problems sleeping at nighttime like the rest of the natural world & being on Boy's work schedule with him... it's just impossible. If I start reading a book when I lay down, I will stay up all night reading it. & Well, laying there reading isn't exactly spending quality time with my man. Sooo, yeah. I stick to short reads these days... Lucky, Glamour & Cosmo!

Writer's Workshop is brought to you by the letter A... Oh, & Kat too! :)

AHEM, while I have your attention...
I bought some KettleBells today! Does anybody out there work out with these or have you taken a class or anything? Please tell me about your experience with them!

Smooches,

14 love notes:

  1. Aaaahhh, a girl after my own heart. A magazine lovah!! That's usually ALL I read {well, besides blogs} but the funny thing is, I started reading a book the night before the prompt!! I literally haven't read a book in 2 years. So funny.

Great post! Great blog! Nice to meet ya!

  2. Enjoyed your post about Glamour and Miss Sandy. I have never really gotten into Cosmo. I'm afraid of the advice and quizzes, and the horrible things they might tell me about my marriage and myself. I prefer the tabloid rags, Vogue, InStyle, Elle, and Marie Claire (all depending on the cover). I don't like to read books that often, so magazines are my weekly read. It can be an expensive hobby though. Much to the chagrin of publishers my friends and I have been sharing our mags to cut back costs. Take care and I hope you get a chance to visit my blogs and check out my prompts.

  8. I happen to be reading Glamour at the moment mysself. I'm actually quite a magazine junky. I love reading books, but lately I'm so sleep deprived that I can only handle quick peaks at my magazines.

  9. I have a really hard time getting into a book. Once I start, I am usually good, and always travel with one. I am usually very wrapped up in my mags. Love 'um!

  10. I'm a big kettle bells fan. Be aware: you need much LIGHTER kettle bells than dumbells! "Fitness" magazine has lots of good exercises that are kettle bell friendly (even if the models aren't using the kettle bells in the pictures)

  11. Is it just me or does she look kind of awkward on that cover? I think she's so pretty (even though my boyfriend says she looks like a man!), but she just...shouldn't pose like that or make that face, ever again. haha. I sound horrible. I always read magazines. I fall asleep when reading a book. Short stories can keep my attention long enough for me to read them without falling asleep! I love magazines! Pretty pictures of pretty things to inspire me.

So your comment was so sweet, & I think you are my new blog girl crush as well. You are absolutely adorable & sweet as can be, & I hope your finger doesn't still hurt. That sounds weird. I hope it doesn't still hurt because of the needle incident!
