Who hit you with the PURDY stick?

Becky from Purdy Things!

Today is my first sponsor interview! Eeeep! I've been emailing back and forth with Becky the last few days and she is just as awesome as her shop, y'all. She describes her shop, Purdy things, as taking what you thought about crochet, and flipping it! Here's a little chit chat between she and I! Enjoy :)

Lacey: When I found you on Etsy, I fell in love with your items. I feel like I was drawn to them because crochet is such a classic skill, and your pieces are so modern and lovely. I love a good mix! Where do you pull inspiration for your pieces from?

Becky: It is a classic skill, and my grandma is the one who taught me when I was 6. My inspiration usually comes from color, I love mixing colors and making fun combinations, as well as classic ones. I also have an addiction to buttons, from fun and modern to vintage buttons. So many times I will design something around a button. I also love texture, and originality, so many of the designs in my shop are my own. I love too when I get a custom order with a color combination I never thought of! I had a friend who ordered a Rust hat with a Rose Pink flower... it was so beautiful!!

L: What is your favorite item in your shop right now?

B: My favorite item right now is probably my eco-friendly fingerless gloves!! Super cute for you, and GREAT for the environment!

L: Agreed! So cute & I love items that are "green" that don't look "green" ya know? My favorite has to be the grey newsboy cap with the pink flower. Ugg, I need that bad boy! Do you sell exclusively on Etsy or do you sell elsewhere also?

B: I do craft shows ALL around the Sacramento area and some in San Fransisco, I am in 2 local shops, and by word of mouth people are able to make appointments to come see what I have to offer.

L: Wow, busy lady! ALMOST too busy to blog, but somehow you're managing that too! I recently became a follower! When did you begin blogging, why & what is your favorite blog to read?

B: I started my blog, about 7 months ago, and I try to keep up with it! I wanted to have a place to not only show off my new designs, but to showcase my Etsy finds. There are SO many creative and talented people on Etsy, I want to show them off to!! Plus, give people a little insight to me. It's still very much a work in progress. I follow some great blogs... I of course love this one! My friend recently started one about love life, relationships and sex, but it isn't the kind of blog people are used to and I LOVE her outlook! I also LOVE Etsy's Storque.

How lovely is she, right? I didn't even pay her to say she liked my blog... yet ;)
(uhm, hello cuteness!)
