Good Clean Fun

This post is sponsored by Pine-Sol®
"Clean & Disinfect with Pine-Sol®: The Powerful Scent of Clean."
I was compensated for this post as a member of Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all my own.

It's officially Spring!
When I think of Spring, I think of so many wonderful things!  Birds chirping, breeze blowing, the scent of fresh cut grass, windows open and of course, SPRING CLEANING!
I have always been a girl who loves a good before and after when it comes to cleaning.  I will clean if for no other reason than the glory of being able to say "Look how much better I made this look!"
[Cute hair scarf- optional.  Mop-a must!]
When I set out to clean house, here's how I do it!
Instead of tackling one room at a time, I tackle one task at a time! I find that when I tackle one room at a time, I feel a little too proud of that 1 room and put off the others.  By doing one task at a time, no one room is ever completely done before the others.

PICK UP- get dishes in the dishwasher, toys in the toy box, clothes in the laundry room, etc.

DUST - every room from top to bottom!

WIPE DOWN- use cleanser to wipe down all surfaces, windows and doorknobs in your home.

CLEANSE BATHROOMS- toilets, tubs and showers.
(I always use a separate rag for toilets so those germs aren't spread anywhere else.)

SWEEP,VACUUM, MOP, WAX- In that order!

My finishing touch when I am done cleaning is to spray the house with a room spray!  Everything FEELS cleaner when it smells lovely, right?  My floor cleanser(I like Pine-sol Outdoor Fresh!) makes the rooms with hard floors smell delightful and clean enough for my liking, but any room with carpet gets a spritz!

Now, if you're going to get down to the nitty gritty(You go, girl!) here are a few things to remember to tackle!

Clean that refrigerator!- check expiration dates, toss what's bad and then wipe down all of the shelves and drawers.  Reorganize!

Clean filters!- I bet there are a few in your house that you put off.  The vacuum, the dryer?

Clean window tracks!- Seriously?  How do these things get so dirty! I  always use an old toothbrush to get in those tiny crevices.

Clean baseboards- I recently read that using fabric softener sheets to wipe your baseboards down will keep them clean longer!    Cleaning baseboards less often?  Sign me up!

Oh man- I could go on for days.  I have been known to clean my cleaning products bottles and tools when I get in serious cleaning mode!  Haha! Can you say "crazy"?

If you're like me and your love of clean is a little extreme, head on over to Pine-sol to enter their Deep Clean Diva contest!  You could win $5,000 and the Deep Clean Diva crown!  Seriously? Is there a crown?  I'M IN! ;)

Are you a little extreme when it comes to cleaning?

4 love notes:

  1. I have two weeks off of school before spring quarter.. I plan on doing a deep clean. It's amazing how dirty everything can get in a short amount of time. I didn't even think about using a tooth brush for the window track! This post motivated me so much!

  2. You look too adorable for words with your polka dote hair band and cleaning...LOVE It! :) I am doing the same thing, while also packing up my apt. of 9 years to make the move cross country in May, but I don't look as adorable as you do doing so! :) I'll have to check out the Pine-sol thing too!

  3. I love your hair scarf, Lacey. What a pretty color! All this talk of Spring cleaning and Pine-Sol should motivate me to clean, but for some reason cleaning is the one thing I don't mind putting off and procrastinating. ;)
