Poor boy can't pronounce Po-Boy

Who?  MR & I
What?  Oak Street Po-Boy Festival
When? November 13, 2011
Where?  New Orleans, Louisiana
Why?  Because Po-boys are delicious, that's why!

Just in case you're from some alternate(and very sad) universe where good food is most often enjoyed in your dreams:  A po-boy is a traditional submarine sandwich from Louisiana.  Don't call it a poor boy or I will laugh at you... I promise. It almost always consists of meat(often roast) or seafood(usually fried) served on baguette-like New Orleans French bread, known for its crisp crust and fluffy center.

Soft shell crab po-boy with sriracha mayo... I'm drooling just thinking about it!
MR and I split everything so we could try a few things... the way to go, for sure!
I never would have been able to choose just 1!
We tried an oyster rockefeller po-boy, a shrimp remoulade po-boy and a soft shell crab po-boy.
Hubigs Pies.  A staple here in New Orleans!  My favorite is cherry, but you can't always find those, so apple is a happy fall back.
Second lining down Oak Street
Blue Plate Mayonnaise was one of the sponsors at the fest and they had a "Blue Plate Pong" game set up.  MR won a year's worth of mayo...
but opted for a tee instead!
The Grinch who stole Po-boy fest.  Hehe ;) Seriously, that look was permanent... she wasn't just giving me the stink eye.

A perfectly delicious day with my love!  I'm aready looking forward to going again next year!

1.2.3.4- get your woman on the floor

1.
First & foremost... It's the gorgeous and sweet MR's Birthday!
Happy Birthday MR!
 You are so full of great & I am so fully of Lucky!
I love you oh so much!
2.
I turned on Oprah yesterday while I was working & Barbara Streisand was singing "The Way We Were".  & It's official... I'm a big fat baby who cries when she hears that song.  Not necessarily because of the song(which is lovely), but because when you hear it you tend to replay the movie in your head & I don't know about you, but it's just one of those movies I cannot get through without a few tears rolling down my face.
{Side Note}
Oprah looks great in hot pink.
Robert Redford is looking old & it hurt my heart a little.  He's still handsome though!
& What is uuuuup with Barbara & those hats?
3.
 Got this seriously cute fabric for boy bibs & ohmagoodness, I love it :)
I have a hard time finding boy fabric I love, so i was so stoked when I spotted this one!
You want one? Shoot me an email(click "contact" in my sidebar) or visit the shop!
4.
 MR's snoball stand re-opened last weekend & I made use of it twice in two days. {NO shame in my game}
Cotton Candy & Tiger's blood, yum yum!
{this Tiger's blood existed long before Sheen went off the deep end}

Happy Wednesday, sweets!  Congratulations, you're half way to the weekend!

Time Change & Changing Times

This time change is really affecting some of us.
Monday 9:00pm
I just hang around looking exhausted, while my handsome boyfriend gets his beauty rest.
It's good that he's getting some rest, because, boy oh boy, do I have a honey-do list for him tomorrow!

Top of the list:
Make me a framed peg board!
[b/c I am needing some serious thread storage right about now]
Well, because I bit the bullet and bought myself one of these bad boys last week...

!!!
Oh my goodness, do you know how much easier this is going to make my job?
LOTS.
However, I don't have a TON of space for it & everything that goes along with it. Sooo, to try to keep it all concealed so my brain is not constantly on work, I am converting this closet into an embroidery/fabric storage area. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, please assume I am buried under piles of fabric & thread and send help.
Wish me luck, won't you?
I will snap a shot for those interested when it's all finished ;)
