Feeling like you couldn't possibly love him more than in this moment:
and this moment...
and this moment...
and then proving yourself wrong EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
It's not easy and it's not always sweet. It's imperfect & madness. It's learning to take a deep breath and say "I love you", when you really want to scream. It's making promises and keeping them. It's vows recited in front of God. It's dancing in the kitchen & stealing the covers. It's notes on the bathroom mirror. It's a red sock in the white laundry & a mass of pink underwear. It's hands held during prayers. It's a shared shower in the morning & a shared bed at night. It's creating new life. It's laughing so hard you cry and crying so hard you laugh. It's knowing your best friend is always by your side.
It's pure and simple & complex and deep.
It's Love.
It's True.
It's Forever.
That is what I hope my marriage to be.

Love, LOVE this post!! You've got it down so well! I love the very last saying the best!
ReplyDeleteThis was beautiful, and I love the pics.
ReplyDeleteI wrote something similar to what you wrote because marriage is good and bad, and everything in between. It's everything, andit's nothing...
Beautiful! <3
ReplyDeleteStopping in from Mama Kat's!
I really like this. Marriage has been a great part of my life. I feel so blessed to have my husband. Then we added to our family and I am so happy we did. It is wonderful to look at our daughter knowing we did something so special together. Great post.
ReplyDeleteVERY SWEET post... i wish all marriages could be that way...especially the "grow old together" picture!!
ReplyDeleteSo, with marriage on the mind, does that mean you and WG are getting serious??
gorgeously said...i love it...
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written. :)
ReplyDeleteMelissa- Are you kidding me right now? Yes, we are "serious", I suppose... like, we're very much in love, but marriage is not a conversation hot topic considering we're 2 months in! haha :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the most perfect definition of love I have ever heard. Love all the photos that you picked out to go along with it!!!
ReplyDelete*to answer your question before - I am from Kentwood, LA but worked in Covington. My husband is from Kenner and lived in Slidell and Covington for a little while. :)
Beautiful post, Lacey! Wishing you all of that AND more when you get married!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post!! I always tell everyone I know who isn't married that it bugs me when people say marriage is "hard work." I don't think it is -- you do have to make an effort, sometimes more than others, but it should be easy, fun and lovely if you are with the rigth person...not work. Pure and simple and complex and deep is so right!! :)
ReplyDelete:) You make me understand this thing called love better. "Hands held during prayers" love that part...and every other part in this post!:)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I love this post. Thank you! My husband and I need this, especially this week.
ReplyDeleteso so so so true.
ReplyDeleteYou will have it too, I know you will.
