A cool front is coming through this week and I couldn't be more happy about it! I got some new running shoes last week and most days it's just been too hot to break them in. This week... it is so on.
[Cute, no?]
Thursday was MR's 1/2 Birthday. Yes... we recognize 1/2 Birthday's around here (& by WE, I mean ME)! No big crazy celebrations are had(that would just be silly), however, there's never a bad time for a banner...
[my heart goes boom when i look at that boy]
Friday was date night. We accumulated some gift cards & decided to put them to use in the form of a date! Sushi & Easy A were on the menu & they were both delightful.
[It felt like watching your favorite 80's movie... just with a few updates. I dug it.]
I snagged this ahhmazing dress on sale at WH/BM today! [It's a LBD-Charlotte style. I think I'll wear it to the wedding we're attending in Chicago in a few weeks]
A few questions came in about the owl ring seen in this post
Mine came from PacSun for $5! I never shop at PS, but the mall in my city is lacking and I was just dying to get out of the house that day. Ended up finding that cutie though, so I'm glad I did! [this silver version is from ModCloth for {insert gasp} $10 more than I paid at PS]
Mommies, Mom's to be & those who are trying extra hard to be Mommies... I need your help! I need to know what baby websites & blogs you're using (or once used). Pretty, pretty please :) I am so not pregnant. Please don't go there. I am just looking at some different websites to advertise on :)
{no rhyme or reason for sharing this photo except that I like it}
[one] When I get a day to myself, I like to... Organize, shop, clean, cook... I don't like to just lay around on my bootay, ya got me? Unless I'm blogging, in which, I'm laying on my butt AND doing something.
[two] High School was... entertaining. It had it's ups and downs. I could take some & leave some. I had a great Senior year, thanks to a ton of activities and awesome scheduling... I'd do that year over again if I could. (ehh, okay... maybe not)
[three] A little dream I have is... to travel... a lot. I'd like to see America.
[four] A big dream I have is... to be able to stay home with future babies & be the Mom I think I was meant to be. Also to be successful enough in business to be able to let other people handle the hands on work... which would make the first part a lot easier.
[five] If I could drive any car it would be... I'm not a car person. Whatever MR tells me is safe and reliable will likely be what I go with for my next car.
[six] A time that I felt really & truly beautiful was... I know it's a mega cheese answer, but I feel most beautiful when I'm around MR. I think that's when I'm happiest. Happy is always beautiful.
[seven] Tomorrow I will... possibly go with my friend to her 1st wedding dress fitting, [or] go to a craft show & then head out to Cooter Brown's to watch the LSU game & celebrate a friend's birthday
fill in the blanks & link up with:
HAPPY WEEKEND, Y'ALL! Hope you do something lovely
Last Thursday, the MR. & I headed into the city(new orleans) for the NFL kickoff & Saints game. We signed up to get tickets for the free Dave Matthew's Band & Taylor Swift show, and whatdayaknow, we got them. So off we were on our little Thursday outting.
We grabbed a 'It's noon on a Thursday & I'm drinking beer' and took a stroll. Yep, you can do that here. The city wasn't overly crowded yet & we were able to just enjoy it & not worry about losing one another in the craziness. We had lunch and drinks & before we knew it, it was time to head over to Jackson Square where the concert was being held.
4pm
5pm
6pm thank goodness we made our way to the front pretty early on DMB came on an hour and a half early to play a mini-concert for everyone. They were only commissioned to play 2 songs for TV. [See Dave on the big screen behind my hand?) The parade rolled through & the TV concert portion began [MR was having a hard time keeping his eyes open in pictures, and this is what I got when I asked if he could kindly keep them open for at least ONE picture)
Taylor Swift came out looking adorable as always. If you watched it on TV, it probably looked a little more magical than it did in person. She was precious, but the performance was lack luster. I still like her though :) However, i would like to see her in something besides a silver dress. She wears A LOT of silver dresses, right?
Then DMB came back out and tore it up. It was crazy good.
(once again, MR's eyes are half open:)) So glad we went! There are few other ways that I'd want to spend a Thursday :)
I guess you may have noticed that I don't blog every day(as I once did) anymore. I used to sit and stare at my computer and pray for words to flood out of my fingertips. This usually took place at night when I should have been sleeping. I guess part of me felt like, 'There are people who are coming here every day to see what I'M doing. Crazy, I know... but they're here & I don't want to disappoint them.' So I would dig down deep and find SOMETHING to write, a picture to post... anything, really. But a few months ago, my life got to the point where there were more important things happening around me, and I told myself "It's OKAY not to be here(at lacey in love) every single day. If I make it here three times a week, great! If I make it here once a week, great! Whatever." I want to be here when I have something to write about, a great picture to post, something to share that inspires me... I don't want to force it. If I'm forcing it on me, I'm forcing it on you & well, that's not cool. I don't think I will ever leave this little space of mine, because it means so much to me. I have "met" all of you because of it & I will never turn my back on that. SO, if you notice I'm not around a ton... shoot me an email or leave a comment if you want to chat. I am always here... I'm just not always writing. I think sometimes I may pop in on those off days just to tell you what is more important than blogging :) [kind of oxymoronic, right?]
Things that trump blogging:
[teaching the future generation to bake a mean batch of brownies... while looking dashing in The Little Mermaid jam jams and an apron, no less] [planning a very cool October with the MR.]
[making sure my boyfriend's feet are the perfect temperature for sleeping]
The weekend has left me so sleepy I can't sleep, knowwhatimeanverne? [MR is sound asleep next to me. Every once in a while he'll make a cute, "I'm sleeping & it's great" sighing sound to rub it in.] MR's Sister & nephew were in town so we spent most of the weekend hanging out with his family :) We sat on the back porch & enjoyed the nice weather, watched the LSU game(holy cannoli, that was a close one), celebrated his Dad's birthday, went to church, had a solo breakfast date with my love & took the kiddos for snowballs and to play at the park. Tomorrow, MR & I have decided to celebrate Labor Day by doing zero labor, as it should be. Perhaps I will document some of the lazy day, because with everything we did this weekend... I managed to take two pictures. Both of his nephew looking cute & showing off his(temporary) LSU tattoo. I failed at picture taking this week. I think next week will be better though, so stay tuned ;)
I think our lazy day tomorrow will resemble this: [Panama City Beach- June 2010]
I hope you all have a great Labor day! I love a Monday dressed up in a Sunday costume :)
