Goodwill Party Time

It's time for Sarah, the Thrifty Decor Chick's Goodwill PARTAYYY!

Sarah has been planning this a while, and I knew I wanted to attend! Off to Goodwill I went. I find that within 2 minutes of walking in, you know what kind of trip it's going to be. I wasn't feeling it. I got a little bummed. I decided to keep moseying. OH. MY. WORD. I'm so glad I did! I found not one, but 3 things! I only had time to re-do one for this little shin dig, but I will definitely share the other's in later posts. They are bigger projects!

Without further adieu, I give you... a really ugly cheese plate!

Mmmhmm, I told you. Let's get a better look at that awesome cheese themed cheese plate bottom, shall we?

Alright, I'm not gonna lie. I might kind of dig the cheese themed bottom if the wood were painted a vintage-y color and i were planning on using this in my kitchen. I however, want to use it in my bathroom. That's right... it's ma' bathroom cheese plate!

First things first. I layed a piece of paper over the whole plate, pressed a marker on the ridge of the plate and followed it around tracing style. I chopped that bad boy out and used it as a stencil on a piece of scrapbook paper I wanted to use as the bottom of my plate. I then taped that same piece of stencil paper to the bottom and spraypainted the wood surround in a cherry red color.

Ahh, so much better! Once the paint dried I simply sat the peice of scrapbook paper that I cut out earlier on top. I didn't bother gluing it or anything. This way, I can change the plate as many times as I want! I can keep this sucker forever.

I think I'm going to buy 3 bars of glycerine soap to stack in there. See the frame that Squishy Baby is in? I used the same black and white damask scrapbook paper a few months earlier to make that matting. I do all kinds of things with scrapbook paper! Endless uses! My shower curtain is b&w damask... so it all flows lovely!

(in fact, my bedroom is also done in red and b&w damask... remember my closet re-do a while back?)

Okay, so a couple of you have emailed me wondering where my Fashion Friday post has been the last 2 weeks. Here's my deal. It has exhausted me! I love picking out the outfits for you all(in fact, I have the next few weeks completely outfitted...) it's just doing the write ups on everyone for the posts that is wearing me out!! It's a lot of work! I go and read up on all of you, I create the outfits, I get giddy and then want to buy it, I can't wait for you to see it, and then I want to lay my head down! Sometimes I sit in front of the computer for 2 hours doing write ups. IT'S TOO MUCH WASTED TIME. Soooo, during my Fashion Friday break I decided what I'm going to do. I'm going to email you all with a few questions, and with your fashion "de-funk" I will post our Q&A! I think it will be good, because then everyone reading will get it straight from you! So, look out for my emails! Okay? Okay!

Those of you on Facebook: are you ever aggravated with the constant changes to the site? Also, it seems like everytime they change the site, they give out a little more random information about you on the homepage. Guess what? It's REALLY likely that I DON'T CARE. The most recent update is probably the most annoying so far. If someone updates their status 12 times in a day... they show you all 12 of those updates. AWESOME.

Then there are the random things you can be a fan of. "2 friends are a fan of hot showers", "8 friends are a fan of tacos". I kid you not, I clicked the "fan of hot showers" link and it takes you to Hot Shower's facebook page. I'm all, "Seriously?" and click the 'photos' tab. 173 photos of hot showers. Hahaha.

And of course there are the dumb "applications" that people invite you to do all the time. The most recent one I was sent, I actually accepted. It seemed like it could be interesting, I got sucked in. I'm a sucker. It was an Acrostic or whatever you call it. You know? B.E.N. Ben. B is for Big. E is for Exciting. N is for Noisy. Dumb, but you get it! So... without further adieu, I give you the meaning of LACEY.

Likeable... Well, that's nice. I'd like to think so!

Aggressive... I guess I can be. When it counts. Muahaha.

Rawr! I love it! The shoes(Fendi) and bag(Birkin) are enough to make me drool. But honestly, today I am wearing old jeans, a tank top, cardigan & sandals. My hair is curly, my makeup is so-so and it's raining. So, it's not quite as lovely as this little diddy. But really, is it ever? Nope! And surprisingly... I'm okay with that. That's my life :)

My Saturday was Robust

The day began at 7am. I rose out of bed, knowing I was already pushing it... no time for snoozing! I did my hair and makeup, and put on the dress I had already ironed and layed out for myself. I drove through Starbucks and told the girl at the window I loved her when she handed me my Grande Caramel Frap. light. She actually said she loved me too and with a straight face! I thought about being disturbed, but laughed instead. She followed suit. I hit the interstate and made it to Mrs. Paul Reiser's door at 8:45am. We smiled for the camera with our arms wrapped around one another, like we've done a hundred times before. I gave her a gift I picked out months ago. Today, my best friend graduated from college. Today, I felt proud!

I waited until she'd crossed the stage and made her way back to her seat, and then I made my exit.

On to the next part of my day! It was time for Monkey Man's birthday party! The Big 2! Ugh, breakin' my heart! I begged him to stop growing up NOW. He responded to my plea by jumping in my arms and asking to watch Mickey Mouse on my computer. I'm just going to assume that means we have a deal.

This is my favorite picture I took of Monkey Man all day. I have plenty of him with his eyes open, but this one feels young and free to me. I love that smile! I LOVE that little boy.

Doll Face's personality is bigger than her smile, if you can believe it! Isn't she gorgeous? This child is rarely in a bad mood... she takes all my troubles away!

Oh, Squishy Baby! This girl is fabulous! She loves her accessories, and she LOVED the swings! She got a kick out of her Daddy and I swinging next to her :) I'm in love!

We blew out the candles, cut the cake, opened presents and played hard on the playground... then it was time for me to head on to the next event of the day!

At this point I was exhausted, but spent the next three hours relaxing and talking with friends. It was lovely! When I got home, I showered and got in bed! It was 7:00pm! I slept for 3 hours and then waited for Boy to get off of work. Once he was home I headed to his house and we watched tv and chatted about our days until we drifted off to sleep.

Tonight, I'm Cleanin' Out My Closet

I'm spending my Sunday cleaning out my clothes closet, because apparently nobody wants to do it for me. Seriously, what's the deal with that?

I've decided to seperate into three piles this time. Toss, Donate & Swap.

Toss=stained or too worn for anyone else to get use of.

Donate=perfectly fine clothing in good condition, but nothing worth swooning over. Swap=Fabulous, but haven't worn it in a while or ever.

We have a few shops in the city where you can bring in your stuff, they give you a price point for it all & then you can go shopping through stuff others have brought in. I've never done this, but figure it could be fun!

THIS JUST IN: I NOW HAVE ABOUT 55 EMPTY HANGERS IN MY CLOSET & AN ALMOST EMPTY DRESSER DRAWER. MAY THOSE 95 PIECES LIVE A HAPPY LIFE WITH SOMEONE ELSE, AND MAY THE 5 UNLUCKY PIECES REST IN PEACE.

Fashion Friday, Come On Doooowwwwn

It's Fashion Friday already? How did that happen?

I've decided to add a 3rd De-Funk this week because I've got so many of you on the list to get through still!

Well, here goes!

::Cynthia from Dancing in the Rain::

Cynthia has had quite a trying year. I'm not going into anything deep here, because this is supposed to be about fashion and fun! But if you read her blog, you very well know what I'm talking about, and I'm sure many of your prayers, like mine, have been for her. Cynthia loves fashion and often posts about it on her blog as well! :) I love fashion posts of all kinds! I love to pull inspiration from others. She's even done some video blogs where she shows her recent fashion buys & one on different ways to tie scarves! Oh, how I appreciate those!(Oh & Cynthia has the tiniest high pitch voice! Makes me giggle! Love that.)

From what I understand, she lives on(or across from?) the beach! Lucky! That's why I chose this coral beachy bag! It's from Target, and Cynthia has been in an ongoing affair with LOVES Target! After the bag everything else just fell into place. I'm really loving short dresses or tunics with jeans right now. I wanted it to feel beachy, hence the white jeans. Which are still kickin' in the fashion world. I personally wouldn't try to pull off a full white jean, but a cropped white jean? INDEED! ♥C♥, like myself, is loving the hair accessories that are trending right now, so I threw in a flower clippy! & The necklaces? Those are for her boys... Bug & R. This outfit feels comfty enough for everyday, but cute enough for something special! That's how I like my outfits to be... versatile!

Molly is a wife and Mommy residing in sunny California! Molly is a Georgia girl at heart though, and loves going home to see her fam. My best friend is a Southern girl living in Cali right now as well, and I see so many similarities in she and Molly. You can take a girl out of the south, but you can't take the south out of a girl! Another reason I love reading Molly's blog? She is living a life similar to what I thought I would be living at this point! My life took turns I never saw coming & I'm thankful for that, so it's fun to look in on Molly's life and see what's goin' on! It's lovely, I'll tell you that! Don't take my word for it, go see her yourself :)

BE STILL MY HEART! This dress, ahhhh! This may be the first De-Funk where I actually go out and buy the whole outfit! I love this dress because it has such a vintage feel about it. It kind of reminds me of house linens :) I added those heels to Polyvore a while back and have been waiting for the perfect outfit to pair them with! I knew when I saw the dress that Molly needed these heels to go with it! Her husband is a good foot taller than her, and she could use the boost to get a little closer to her honey! I luuurrrvve this outfit. The ring, the jewelry, the bag, I love it all!

Cheryl is a newlywed & so adorably in love. Her Sweetheart is, well... a sweetheart! She's a house hunting, Disney loving, Lost watching, family girl! She has a full time job and juggles all that in between work and sleep! She's easy to relate with and perfectly sweet. My favorite post of hers so far is HERE, it's about her experience at a "Fun Party"... and I'll be a monkey's auntie if she didn't decide to host one herself after that was all said and done! Haha, crazy girl!(By the way, we never got to hear any details about your party! I want the goods, woman!) Okay, so onto the outfit, right?

It's Minnie Mouse inspired, see?! :) Cheryl is Disney Freak! I'm not even going to do a strike through on that one! This outfit makes me smile! It started with the shoes!(Doesn't it always?) They are so perfectly Minnie Mouse! I opted for stripes instead of polka dots on the dress, to give it a little more of a "grown up" feel.(I could not appreciate these angles on this dress more. I. LOVE.) Then I wanted to give her a hair accessory to take place of Minnie's signature bow! I opted for tiny flower clipies :) This outfit is so fun! It makes me want to put it on and twirl! Magical :)

Hey Y'all! Just a quick note before you scroll down to the fashion De-Funks!

I wasn't able to write much about these two bloggers. No, not because I didn't read their blogs. I read them all the time! The reason? Something is wrong with my jaw & I'm on pain meds that make me seriously loopy! I don't know what's wrong with it... but it's making it hard to eat and even kiss my boy! I KNOW, what a pain! So anyway, instead of doing my own write up on them, I took words straight from their profiles. I wish I had it in me to do more... but I'm just a wreck! She always planned a different life for herself, but has come to learn that the life God has planned for her is far better!

I'm blessed to be able to keep Doll Face at least once or twice a week while my sister is at work. Today, we played a mean game of peek-a-boo! The girl. went. wild. She cracks me up! :)

Below is a smidgen of our game. At one point I had her throwing her head back and letting out huge belly laughs, but I couldn't hold the camera while I did my tricks to make her do that. Oh yes... I go ALL. OUT. Laughing babies make my world go round.

First is the adorable Angie, from Seven Clown Circus! EVERYBODY knows Angie, right?! If not, I don't know where you've been! Angie is a Mom of 5. That's right... 5! I honestly can't even imagine the life this woman leads! I assume it involves lots of 'No no's', 'It's okay's', 'I'm counting to three's'... oh yeah, and LOTS OF LOVE! Can you just imagine Christmas morning? Aghh, makes my heart melt and head hurt all at the same time!

I normally do dressy outfits or sundresses, but Angie has an addiction to LOVES designer jeans, and has 5 kids to keep up with... so denim it is!

CA-uuuutte! I always like to throw in different shoe options for Mommies! A girl's gotta have a heel for a hot night out without the kiddos! Throw on the flat sandals and cardigan for parent/teacher meetings & take off the cardigan and switch to the heels for some hubby time! And aren't these jeans great, Angie?! I want them! So cute! Love it all! (That seems to be the case every week... I put together an outfit for you guys and end up wanting it myself! This series is going to kill my pocket book!)

Now onto Kelly from Carty Party of Three! Kelly lives about 20 minutes away from me! I just know we will eventually bump into one another while out shopping one day! I'm always shopping in her city... it's bound to happen! So Kelly, if some loony girl with a basket full of sale items starts walking towards you and is trying to hold your child and talking like she's known you for years... don't worry. It's me, girl! Haha! Kelly is a wife and Mommy to one precious tot, Tay. She's lived all over from what I can gather! I know I've read about SC & FL and now she's here in LA. All Southern! (Where are you originally from, Kelly? & Where else have you lived that I'm unaware of? Tell us in the comments!) In her 100th post, she said she wishes she were a girly girl. Sooo I decided to put together an outfit that would reflect that wish! I went with traditionally masculine colors, but girly silhouettes! Take a look!

I am adoring the blue, green & white color combo right now! It feels nautical without going overboard, right?(Get it, overboard? Bahahaha!) Kelly loves the movie Overboard :) So do I! Okay, back to the outfit! See how the skirt & sweater mock one another? The skirt hugs the hips & puffs at the bottom. The sweater hugs the body & puffs at the sleeves. They couldn't work better together if they tried! That's right... you DO infact see 3 pairs of shoes here! The flat for running errands and playing with Taylor. The wedge for work, date night, girls night. The boots for, well... hurricane season, duh. You know what I'm talkin' about! And I purposely found this jewelry from Forever21 to match, b/c Kelly about had a panic attack when she saw all of the ugly 80's accessories they have right now! There are some gems among the 80's flashbacks...see?
