Today I'm cleaning out my closet.
It's getting to the point where I can't fit anything else in there... no good.
This means letting go of perfectly good pieces that I keep saying, "I might wear it someday" about.
You know those pieces. They're pretty & many of them have never been worn & you can never find the right place to wear them or the right pants, shoes, shirt to wear them with...
but you just can't seem to let them go. We all have 'em.
But ya' know, maybe YOU have a place you can wear them?
If any of you are interested I will post what I'm sadly letting go of[for ridiculously low prices] sometime next week & whoever claims it first is the new lucky owner.
I'll even model 'em so you can get the full effect.

I really enjoy being a bridesmaid.

I know the saying "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride." & well, I am kind of the eternal bridesmaid... but I think it's a pretty big honor to stand next to someone when they take their vows. Gives me chills.
I say "I love you" as often as I feel love.

& I feel love pretty often.

This picture of The Mr. & I at my nephew's birthday party makes me giggle.

I look like I'm looking at my butt(I was actually looking at the bottom of my boot) & he looks like he's looking at the camera man like, "Don't you look at her butt."
I bought myself this dress on a whim.

& then I went and bought some shoes to go with it. Now all I need is some place to wear it!

Yep, I chose a camera!
After researching and checking and double checking and being disappointed that the stores didn't carry anything I wanted to try out...
I found this one & before I knew what I was doing said, "I'll take it!"

When I got home I had a bit of buyers remorse and almost put it back in the package and brought it back... but then I read the book a little & played with it a bit & now...
I think I kind of love it.
I think it will be a good little camera for me.
14 megapixels w/ 10x optical zoom & a 3 year warranty.
& still small enough to fit in my Mr.'s pocket!
Oooo & it does this...

That picture of the Mr. up there was taken with the sahhhweeet smile recognition sensor. You push a little happy face button & when the camera sees the person smile, it automatically takes the picture for you! How stinking great is that going to be when I'm taking pics of my nugget nieces and nephew? Get ready for picture overload, y'all.

I always seem to get a cold at the beginning of Summer. What a bunch of crap.
Speaking of crap... the new Justin Case commercial is actually a little funny... mostly because the girl says "crap", but whatever... enjoy.

More Random Stuff:

My nephew grabs a bag of dark chocolate candies, stares at them for a second, holds the bag next to his head and shakes it and then whispers to me, "Lay Lay, I think that's yummy."
I allowed him to have some just for being so cute. Well played, little man... well played.

My boyfriend has a country super star alter ego named Dusty Britches. He sings inappropriate country songs to me in bed to make me giggle. Dusty has also taken to promoting different products on commercials. We're thinking of starting a facebook fan page for him. I know, I know... I'm a lucky woman.

I'm still loving the drawing of The Mr. & I from Batzy.
I printed one out and put it in a cute oval frame yesterday & I ♥ it!

I'm thinking it would be cute if I had Victoria do drawings of all of my family members & make a coloring book for the kiddos with them! I could get her to do the Mr.'s family too for his niece and nephew. Such a cute and easy gift! I'm bookmarking that idea for Christmas!

One of my besties is in town from Cali & I can't wait to see her pretty face later! Drinks will be consumed, pictures will be taken & stories will be swapped. :) I'll also get to spend some QT with our other friend B, who I luckily get to see pretty often!
With how happy I am in my relationship

It's only been a few months & of course everything is coming up roses,
but here's the deal... When the shiz hits the fan, when something horribly sad happens, when I don't want to lift my chin and smile... I know that I want him there next to me. We know it's not always going to be easy & it's not always going to be fresh and new... but it will always be worth it. Everything is better when we are together... that's what it comes down to. I could not ask for more :)

What did you eat today?
I haven't had anything to eat today yet... I do have a photo of what I normally eat for lunch though! I took it last week when I had a post in mind for it. That idea has evacuated my brain, so i'll just throw it out there now. Nothing too crazy, kids.

[nom, nom, nom now I'm hungry! baby spinach, avocado, cucumber, tomato & grilled chicken. I normally use poppy seed dressing[T. Marzetti or Annie's Organic are where it's at if you ask me], because I feel like i never over use it.]

It's the little things...

that make life so pretty

I've had a couple of dreams recently in which I'm carrying around a camera.
I wake up from these dreams with an overwhelming urge to capture SOMETHING... but what? I don't have anything super exciting going on.
Then, last night, as I layed there watching The Mr. play guitar next to me, it hit me.
This is gorgeous. This is worth capturing.
[Yes, I think HE is gorgeous, but I mean the moment]
Sure, it's something I experience almost daily... but it's a pretty part of my life that I don't want to forget. [Or a pretty part of my life that the people who come after me can get a glimpse of.]
All to often, I find that my pictures are all the same. The girls squishing together for a group shot, someones face smiling back at my cameras lense, arms over shoulders & making silly faces...
I just want to capture the moments as I remember them.
Therefore, today starts my hunt for a new camera. Mine looks like it's been through World War I &II.
Any recommendations?
It can't be a big clunky guy... he needs to fit in my purse or The Mr.'s pocket!

It's Summer's birthday... won't you go wish her well?

Are we allowed to make wishes for people on their birthdays? Cause I am.
I wish... for good health for her daddy-o, good health for her, baby brownies,
more laughter, less tears, and a lifetime full of love! Oh... and also that we get to spend time together next time she's home! That one is a wee bit selfish though ;) Happy Birthday, Summer bear! You are so loved.

Did I mention I met my Mr.'s Sister's (i'm a poet) a few weekends ago? No? Well, I did and they were both lovely! Sometimes meeting family can feel like an interview, you know? "Hi, I'm Lacey. I'm totally in love with your brother, please like me because I don't want to go anywhere." Bwaha! They made it easy, thank goodness! One of his sister's, H, has a health & fitness blog if you want to pop over and be inspired to get that booty of yours in gear! This woman seems to get more done in a day than is possible... she'll make you want to give mixing veggie purees in your food a shot. Maybe that's where this energy is coming from?
Speaking of food... I went and bought the ingredients to this yogurt snack/breakfast that she posted about the other day & uhm, I'll never stray from it. SO SO stinking good.

I loved this guest post that Rachel from Confessions of a Jersey Girl did over at Classy in Philadelphia! I wanted to pump my fist in the air Jersey shore style in agreeance, Rach! ;)

This bed. I'm so in love with it. I'm quite sure my life won't be complete until I have one just like it. I like the bedding a lot too... but the bed? Oy, it makes my heart pound.

I told The Mr. about it the other night & he said(without even seeing it first) that "What baby wants, baby gets." [I happen to love that too.] I know he'll like it though! Right babe? You love it and can't wait to call it mine (WHOOPS, I mean OURS) someday ;)

He is the cutest, isn't he? I think I'll go smooch on his face now.
& Those little girls? Oof, gorgeous. If they were mine, I'd show them off to you, but they're not! They are his sister's :)

My nephew turns 3 today. I cannot believe it. I literally get teary thinking about how fast he is growing up. [He'll get his own birthday letter post later this weekend though!]
He is having a Cowboy party this weekend at some stables.
My whole family is dressing up! I'm definitely in love with my family dressed as cowboys :)

Whatever happened to Pogs?

That's right... I said Pogs.
Whatever happened to them? Where did they go? Why aren't they cool anymore?

If you're over the age of 30, odds are you are either thinking...
a) Lacey, what the heck is a pog?
or
b) I never understood why pogs were cool.
& if you're thinking either of those... no fear, I'll gladly explain what a pog is and why they are cool and you are not.
I kid, I kid! I'm actually about to stand in line next to you and say...
"I don't get kids today", because apparently I'm 25 going on 65.
So, scootch on over.

What is up with Silly Bandz?
About 2 months ago, I noticed some goofy lookin' high school kids walking through the mall with these super ugly jelly type bracelets on.

I, of course, being older, wiser and SUPER cool(eh, go with me)... wanted to pull them aside, point to their wrists and say, "Ehhh, NAHSOMUCH." ,while making my sour milk face. Instead, I turned to my sister and said, "What the hell are those kids wearing?" Which, now that I think about it was a loaded question, because the Silly Bandz were the least of some of their problems. (We'll talk about pockets hanging out of the bottom of booty shorts, bra straps with halter tops & white eyeliner some other day.)
For those of you out of the loop(don't feel bad), I'll give you a quick wikipedia definition of Silly Bandz.
Silly Bandz are silicone rubber bands, developed by Zanybandz, that are shaped as animals, objects, letters, and more. They are generally worn as necklaces and bracelets by grade school children.
I found this amazing video on Youtube to show you how Silly Bandz are even helping kids get laid &, I have to tell you, Pogs never got anyone laid... so maybe these kids are on to something?


Seriously girls? You're sweating over this guy who is wearing a kangaroo bracelet when he could have clearly picked one of the many "masculine" shaped bracelets? I'd check his cd collection before planning your wedding... you may be better suited as BFF's. Where there are kangaroos, there are princess crowns... or ya know, where there's smoke, there's fire. I'm just sayin.

As all fads do, this one will fade, of course. I suspect that in a few months all of these kiddos will think Silly Bandz are dorky.
& I have to tell you... they'll be right.

- to take a day off to lay by the pool with friends & drink margaritas before noon

- to make a point to eat Subway instead of something crappy for you & then follow it up by eating half of a Butterfinger

-to go see a Miley Cyrus movie(yes, she looked like a duck throughout) at the age of 25... (but you're going to to have to hire a kid to sit with you if you want to see that new Ramona & Beezus movie coming out in a few months.)

- to bribe your nephew with candy for kisses (just don't do this with stranger kids... that's called a felony)

- to swear that you look better naked than in a bikini(naked doesn't cut into your hips, youknowwhatimean?)

- to not root for anyone on American Idol or Dancing with the Stars

- to watch Teen Mom and feel preeeetttyyy darn good about yourself
