Geishas deserve happiness too!

Ya'll... I was just chit chatting with the lovely Rasha.
[Say it with me: RAY-SHA]
(A little tid-bit... when I think of Rasha, I call her "Rasha Girl" in my head :)
Rasha Girl, like Geisha Girl!)

Anyway, she seems to be having a bit of a pain in the butt of a week...
she's got some negativity on her brain & I just want to wash it away.
& Do you know why?
Well, yes... because she's precious and I love her,
but also b/c tomorrow is her birthday!

Her 21st Birthday!

So today, do me a favor and head over to Rasha's and leave a happy little something in her comment box to make her smile!

Here's my contribution to your smiles, Rasha :)

Babies, puppies & kittens= Pure happiness, right?

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
[C'mon and do the humpty hump]

For those of you who emailed me, the answer is:
Yes... he does just so happen to be a hottie mc'hot pants.
[hottie mc'hot green pants to be exact.]

But no pressure, right? I hate pressure.

Monday didn't taste like chicken.

I went and met a guy I went to high school with for coffee tonight.
We didn't know one another really well in high school...
just never had the same classes or crossed paths much.
I guess he was always kind of a mystery to me b/c he dated the same girl for a long time,
and ya know, it's difficult to get to know the opposite sex when they're in a relationship.
I completely understand that concept, because I was in one for about 6 years.
So I knew going into our little coffee date that if nothing else, we had that in common.
We ended up having a lot in common, and I decided it was a shame we didn't know one another better in high school.
Then again, I guess we were different people then. I mean, I'm a different person than I was a year ago.
But it was nice to just sit and talk to him about life and laugh for a while.

One of my favorite topics of the evening?
Fashion.
He's not afraid to wear things that some men would shun.
Bright green pants? He's got em.
I whole heartedly support the green pants movement, because my favorite dress happens to be covered in owls and I know some people think it's hideous... but I love it & it makes me happy.
(Also, Summer told me I'm cool enough to pull it off. Thanks, Sum!)

["Bring your green hat pants!"]

[I name a different owl every time I wear this little lovely, because it makes me giggle. So far we've got Mary Kate... and Ashley. I know, awesome.]

Anyway, it was a good way to end a Monday!
I hope your Monday wasn't too Monday-ish!
XO

Getting to know all abouuuuuttt youuuu... I mean me.

A sweet snap shot from my weekend :)

Getting to Know You
brought to you by:

1 - Why did you start blogging?
I had another blog before this one... same blog name, different address. That one was started to have a place to showcase work stuff originally. Since I made the switch(the other one was hacked or something) it's become less and less about work and more and more about my personal life. I guess my life started to become a little more interesting, haha. I want to start showing some more work, but I def. need this place to release my inner
thoughts and feelings.
A healthy mix would be lovely, I think :)
2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
(I hate that... In Real Life. THIS IS my real life, y'all. I'm going to start saying my F2F friend... face to face friend!) Haha. I can't go picking just one! However, I will get the pleasure of meeting one of the people I would choose in about a month! Hot dog! Exciting, I know! Want to know who she is? I love her :)
3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
I want to feel comfortable in my skin. If I have a few extra pounds stretching it out, I just don't live well with it! And for the record, I'm not ALWAYS concerned about it & as of right now, it's more like 6lbs, not 10. Haha
4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
*I joke & play & wear my funny sassy pants most day... but I'm fragile. *I NEED to play. Hide and seek, tag, dance around the living room, ride bikes, cartwheels in the yard, whatever. I'm playful and I have to get that out of my system each and every day! If you stop playing... you just get old. *That grumpy look you see on my face? Hand me a cup full of caffeine and you'll make it go away.
5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes?
I have zero. I recently shared of my yearning for a tattoo of pretty words that make me feel something, but I also shared of my yearning for tattoo ink that last 3-5 years :) SO many of you agreed... I say we get something going! haha
6 - What was the best year of your life and why?
Oh geez. Let's say the best year of my life SO FAR, because man... I'm hoping they get better and better. I would say this year is the year that I've grown the most as an adult... but it wasn't necessarily a cake walk. Mmm, cake. I really loved my Senior year of high school though! I'd do it all over again exactly the same if I could.
7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
Oh my goodness. THIS. IS. HARD. I think I would just go around treating women like they deserve to be treated. I would use every manner in the book. I have yet to find a man who is as polite as I am. I think I'd shock the panties right off of 'em... look, I'm thinking like a man already!
8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
Well, it doesn't raise any eyebrows... but it's a margarita. On the rocks, take or leave the salt. If you're here often, you know this! I love 'em!

Book Love Club Update

Hey Y'all!

If you left a comment saying you wanted to join the Book Love Club,
but did not receive an email from me asking for your info,
Please email me (laceyinloveblog@yahoo(dot)com)
your mailing address so I can get us all matched up in groups!
I'm planning to have us all mail our books to by the 10th.
& I'd like to have the groups put together and send you your Book Buddy's address by the 1st!
So if there are any last minute jump ins, now's your chance! Make your move before the 1st!

I picked out my book tonight!
So excited to get it all rolling!
& remember when you pick out your book, don't read it if you haven't already!
You will be the last person in your group to read the book you've purchased,
so that by the time it gets back to you it's filled with little bits of love from the people who read it before you!

I'm also recommending you don't pick out anything ridiculously lengthy or heavy!
We only have 1 month to read each book & not everyone has the time to read everyday... but ya know, you want them to be able to finish it! :)
We also want to make sure we're not paying the same for shipping that we would if we just went out and bought the book... cause that kind of defeats the purpose!

Happy Sunday to you!
It's gorgeous here! Hope it is there too!

Excuse me while I slumber...

Party
:)

I've got a lot of girl talk sloshing around in my brain... this week brought the big guns for me!
Ready to eat, drink & gab with my girls!

Wish you could be there!

Some pictures are only worth a few words...

I save pictures that speak to me & they're often the inspiration for an entire post.
These are some that weren't "whole post" worthy, but still needed to be addressed in my opinion.

& They are OH SO random.
Make friends with them,
invite them over for lunch,
give them a split heart BFF necklace...
or glance at them and give them the stink eye.
That's all on you :)

If tattoos only lasted five years.
When is someone going to finally invent my 3-5 year disappearing tattoo ink? I have a love for beautiful tattoos, but I also have commitment issues with them
I love donuts with sprinkles, but if I'm handed one with these long sprinkles instead of non-perils
(tiny little balls...ha, I just said that!), I want to scream, "NO, NO, NO! Why would you do this? Ughhhhh I hate my life. Gah." 15 year old girl style. Instead, I just knock them all off and eat the rest.
That's what I'm talkin' bout.I was going to join in on a Wishful Wednesday a few weeks ago & I don't know...
fell asleep? forgot? was too lazy?
but it was about wedding dresses & here's one I think is lovely & perfectly Laceylike.
At this point, I don't remember who makes this or anything about it...
but it's gorgeous, right?
This is one of the coolest gifts my best friend has ever given me.
Yeah, Jesus has a sense of humor! I will rummage for a pen in my drawer and when I pull out one with Jesus on it, I always say, "Well hey there, Jesus!" or, "Look at you, all high and mighty!" Hahaha, gives me the giggles. I like to think it gives Jesus the giggles too.A facebook friend posted this snapshot after we won & I just liked it.
I printed it out :) We all become very attached to our news personalities, right?
I remember when we were evacuated for Hurricane Katrina, we were stuck in Jackson, MS for a week and once the power came back on and we could watch news coverage, I missed my news people. I wanted to hear the (bad)news from people who I trusted and watched every night. People who lived in New Orleans & knew what they were talking about when it came to "home".
At some point, I was starting to doze off(sleep was a hard thing to come by that week) and I heard a familiar voice... it was one of our weather girls! She had also been evacuated to Jackson & was working with their station for the time being. It made me smile & for just a moment, I felt better. It's funny how we can become so attached...

That'll be all for my randomness today!
Oh & have you heard?!?!
...
...
...
Tomorrow is Friday!
yayyy!

Cheese

A photo that makes me smile...
[Ever notice how when I'm asked to give a favorite, I give a top five? I'm a rebel, whatcanisay?]
My peek-a-boo baby love.
She is so petite and just pure perfection.
I love her smile and her squinty eyes just like my brother's. :)
The funniest Monkey around. He had me at hello :)
I love his heart. Through and through.
He may always be the man I love the most...
I just wish he's fit in my lap like this forever!
The queen of my heart... and chocolate pudding.
If her personality were any bigger she'd burst!
She sometimes acts a little too much like her "Yay yay"
which I find adorable and terrifying at the same time.
She taught me in her first few months of life what it feels like to love completely selflessly.
That is such a treasured gift. :)
The girls who stand by my side,
We hold one another's hair in our worst moments,
hands in our bad moments
and hearts in each and every moment. :)

The girl who puts it all into perspective,
loves me and all of my flaws,
and makes my life for moving back home for a while :)

Dream Something Pretty

I'm tired.
That kind of tired that makes it possible for you to bite someones head off in one moment
& cry over complete stupidity the next.
I worked all day & then when I was done I went and bought a bunch of supplies...
which puts me back down in that 'broke as a joke' category until I sell the end product of said supplies.
My work space is a big mess, I have a stack of clean laundry that's begging to be folded
& where am I? In bed, fully clothed, with a face full of day old make up, watching Teen Mom and pretending the only thing on my to-do list is
"Dream something pretty."
My something pretty of choice would be:
A cupcake & a cold beer.
[Hey, to each his own! & Not necessarily together. But back to back? You bet your sweet booty.]
Maybe 2 beers?
But you can have those nuts...
See how good I am at sharing?
Now stop looking at my beer like that.

Happy Wed.nes.day. y'all!
(Yes, I still sound it out like that when I'm spelling it. Thanks to my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Coots for that.]

ppssssstt... has anyone else been having some problems with their comments lately? Blogger will tell me I have 3 comments & when I open them up to accept them, there will actually be like 10 comments. It's weirdness & I'd like it to stop now, kthxbye.

Have you settled?

My favorite quote... TODAY ;)

[30 days]

Sunday, March 21, 2010

What if we just pretend it's Tuesday?

A bit of randomness to get the day rolling!

Tomorrow(the 23rd) is free pastry day at Starbucks! By "free" they mean, buy a drink and get a pastry free. Just print out this bad boy & enjoy :)
[via]
Lots of questions on this polish color I posted the other day...
[via]
1) No, those aren't my nails. I do like the shape of my nails, but mine aren't anywhere near this nice! I break mine a lot!
2) I didn't actually paint my nails this exact color & brand. It was the closest I could find at the time. I do like it though! I looked up the color for those of you who were wondering!
OPI- Do you lilac it?

I painted mine this color :)
[via]
Maybelline Express Finish- Goody Plum Drop
I love it & no, that's not my nail either!

Last call to enter The Book Love Club!
Lacey in Love

For those of you who are joining, keep an eye out for an email from me later this week!

How was your weekend? Tell me something HAPPY!
xo

1st, 2nd, 3rd, Copper Boom

Hey, hey, heyyyy...

Some thoughts this lovely Sunday!

First, thank you all SO much for the super sweet comments on my "vlog" (barf). It's sometimes scary posting videos of yourself, because well... y'all are used to me in writing, not live and in your faces!(Okay, so it wasn't LIVE, but you know...) Your comments were so sweet, I just may grace this place with my late night face again ;) (You like that rhymage?)

& While we're talking about this vlog of mine, can we talk about this "accent" you're all speaking of?Seriously? I don't feel like I have an accent. I mean, I say "y'all" instead of "you all", but that's because I feel like "you all" sounds plum silly coming out of my mouth! But country accent? Whhaaa? I mean, Julie? She's kickin' an accent(a seriously cute one too), but me? I don't get it.
So funny :)

Second, I had a really lovely time with my friends tonight! We all brought food & wine and had a grand ol' time being us. These were all friends from high school who are all still my very best friends.
[we're love each other when we're fat with big noses kind of friends]
We are truly family & there is a comfort that can only be felt, not explained. I love, love, love them. I get to spend some more time with them next weekend because I'm the luckiest :)
& Third, Sarah Ann is having a giveaway that is promoting a really amazing cause.
NightLight International
"NightLight’s mission is to build relationships and provide hope, intervention, rescue and assistance to women and children exploited in the sex industry by offering alternative employment, vocational opportunities, life-skills training and physical, emotional and spiritual development to women seeking freedom. NightLight builds support networks internationally to intervene and assist women, men and children whose lives are negatively impacted by the sex industry." [via]
Sadly, I knew very little about sex trafficking until I watched the movie Taken. After seeing it, I wanted to learn more and watched a few documentaries(all heart breaking). I just felt like I needed to be informed though, and was really shocked by what I learned.
NightLight is not only rescuing girls and women from an awful life, but also giving them the opportunity to learn how to make and sell jewelry to support themselves.
Sarah Ann is giving away a pair of earrings that one of those lovely women made!
Please go enter the giveaway and keep NightLight in mind next time you need a gift or want to buy yourself something pretty. You can also donate here

Today's Forcast:

30 days of me:
My favorite movie...
wahhh, another hard one!
Here are a few!
[Searching for a boy in high school is as useless as searching for meaning in a Pauly Shore movie.]
[You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty.]
Syyylvia? Yes Mickey?
[I can't remember anything without you.]
[When Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.]

I just Vlogged

I kind of hate that word... vlog. Sounds dirty.
Reguardless... here it is :)

(Oh my... seriously, I say "uhm" so many times. I only watched it once and vow to never watch it again because the "uhms" make me so uncomfortable! I took a lot of speech and communication classes too... shame, shame.)

Hope y'all have an amazing weekend! I'm going to a concert with a friend tonight and get to hang out with a bunch of my ladies on Saturday! It should be fantastical :)

& Ohmygoodness, I'm so excited for Klaw's big news later! Pink or blue, pink or blue?!
xoxo

He Doesn't Look A Thing Like Jesus...

I'm going to play along with Little Miss Lacey in her 30 days game!
(She is as cute as her name... but I'm a little biased)
There is a different topic every day for 30 days. She's got the list over at her place, so if you want to join in head on over and have a look-see!

You'll get to know some things that maybe, just maybe. you didn't know about me over the next month :) You can't wait, i know.

Today I get to talk all about my favorite song. That's a tall order, right?
Can anyone pick ONE favorite song, ever? I just can't...
so I'll pick a top 5.
Or uhm, random 5 faves, because I will surely think of one I like more than the ones I've chosen later on :)
